We have designed three times in the school day for opportunities to extend our creative, cultural and sporting capital opportunities and enhance our 'When I Grow Up...' curriculum.

These are FIT TO LEARN LUNCHTIMES, our extra-curricular ENRICHMENT CLUBS and ENRICHMENT TIME.

1) FIT TO LEARN LUNCHTIME PROVISION is well underway and can be found on its dedicated page in the 'Our School' section of the website.

2)  ENRICHMENT CLUBS

3) ENRICHMENT TIME for target year groups - currently year 6.

Our children have lost so much social contact, so much physical activity and the opportunity to talk, present, perform and express themselves amidst the prolonged lockdown climate. As an enrichment team we have been briefed to design an offer that attempts to directly respond to this area of unspoken covid impact. Mr Denton often refers to our role as the 'antidote' to the symptoms of children's lockdown. Here is what we are currently doing and shaping in response to this.

At lunchtimes we are creating a wide range of new play zones - focusing extensively upon production, active time. After school we are refining the range of 'clubs' making them higher quality, more specific to current learning, designing 'intra-school competition' thereby giving them greater purpose and aiming to ensure that by doing this they fulfill our vision and offer to our children. During the curriculum time - we will be highlighting one year group at a time for specific PSHE/Relationships Education, crreator art sessions and a unique LAMDA Choral Speaking programme led by our new external professional: Emily Laws (Emily Laws School of Acting). This will culminate in the trained year group undertaking a formal examination and hopefully gaining a LAMDA qualification as the outcome.

Paul Lee - our music tuition lead - has been invited to extend his work to new levels and we now have record numbers of children engaged after a wide recruitment process during Autumn Term 2021. These take place during our current Tuesday Enrichment Day in parallel with our LAMDA programme.

Mr Askham's recruitment has brought over 50 years of technical theatre and stage management to Mayfield and this has helped us establish a hub for our creative work that offers enviable state-of-the-art sound and lighting to value and maximise the children's achievements in these areas.

As with everything at Mayfield right now, we have an exciting future as we build our school as the place to be.
