Curriculum Consultation - Stakeholder Review
INTENT BASED UPON MEANINGFUL EVALUATION
Before taking post, Mr Denton set out asking for views on what a curriculum for Mayfield should contain. This consultation included families, pupils, staff and governing body. This work continued with staff across Autumn Term 2020 as we took the time to determine how we should deliver our vision and what the key elements must be for a successful Mayfield curriculum.
During Spring Term 2020, staff focused upon the detail of the curriculum. Spending time ensuring coverage matched the expectations outlined in the National Curriculum and each subject leader mapped a progression document for the knowledge and skills as themes were positioned across school. It was imperative at all times to work back to the National Curriculum.
We have captured, in the images below, brief soundbite summaries of this work, which ran alongside school leaders monitoring of current provision, and it contains our key elements/drivers in red. The outcome is the implementation of 'When I Grow Up' which, due to the Covid-19 situation, will now fully launch in school in September 2020.
A CONSTANT FEATURE THAT WAS PRESENT THROUGHOUT WAS OUR DESIRE TO USE OUR UNIQUE LOCALITY EXTENSIVELY. TO THIS WE ADDED OUR OTHER DRIVERS.
