Valuing Every Achievement

Mobile Devices & Social Media

We do not encourage/want children to bring mobile phones to school, but understand that as a way of contacting children walking to and from school you may wish them to do so. If mobile phones are brought onto the premises, by any pupil, they must be switched off upon entry through the school gates and given to class teachers to keep until the end of the day.  They must not be switched back on until the child has left the premises.  Please note: we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damages that occur to phones brought into school. In certain circumstances, children may be asked to hand their phones to the school office upon arrival.

Children should not use smart watches in any circumstance. If this is found to be the case then staff will immediately request the watch and then store this out of use and arrange for parents/carers to collect the item.  Equally ‘fit bits’ should not be worn at any time in the school day.

IN LINE WITH SAFEGUARDING OF OUR CHILDREN, STAFF AND OTHER FAMILIES, PARENTS USING PHONES TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS AND MAKE RECORDINGS IS BANNED IN SCHOOL, OTHER THAN DURING OFFICIAL SCHOOL PERFORMANCES OR EVENTS I.E. SPORTS DAY, CHRISTMAS SHOWS.

ALL FILMING OR PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN AT SUCH EVENTS MUST BE FOR THE FAMILIES OWN PERMANENT USE AND MEMORIES AND MUST NOT BE PUBLISHED ON ANY FORM OF SOCIAL MEDIA THAT OTHERS HAVE ACCESS TO. THIS IS A VITAL SAFEGUARDING REQUIREMENT AND ANY BREACH COULD RESULT IN DETAILS BEING PASSED TO THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES. IT IS AT THE OWNER’S RISK – PLEASE ADHERE TO THESE EXPECTATIONS. CONSIDER THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFEGUARDING EVERY CHILD AND HOW YOU WOULD FEEL IF YOU WERE ON THE RECEIVING END OF ANY SUCH BREACH WHICH MAY PLACE YOUR CHILDREN IN DANGER. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORT.

ALL OFFICIAL VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL ARE REQUESTED UPON ARRIVAL AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE NOT TO USE THEIR PHONES WHILST ON THE PREMISES.

We ask that any pictures or films that may be taken during events are kept for personal use only and not shared in the public domain – most notably via internet forums e.g. facebook. We will contact individuals who choose to ignore this and ask them to remove images or films immediately.  PLEASE ADHERE TO THIS.
