VISITS TO SCHOOL FOR PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES AND CHILDREN

If you are interested in your child joining Mayfield in September 2026's reception intake, or you are interested in your child/ren moving to Mayfield in any year group, then please contact school - ideally via the headteacher email (head@mayfield.lancs.sch.uk) - or the school office (info@mayfield.lancs.sch.uk)  for a personal 1-2-1 tour led by Mr Denton.


We will set a date and time that's personalised for you and fits with your busy diaries. There will also be opportunity for questions during your visit and to see school during learning time. We want you to see our busy school during a regular day so you can experience everything at work for yourselves.

Below are the latest planned activities in our fund raising arm of work. Come and join us at the forum to share ideas but we need volunteers to make it happen alongside our staff volunteers.

Thursday 25th September 2025: Mayfield Together & Parent Forum @ 6.30pm

Monday 8th December 2025: Mayfield Together: Christmas Movie Night from 3.15pm to 5.00pm/Early Years Christmas Activities from 3.15pm to 4.15pm

Thursday 5th February 2026: Mayfield Together & Parent Forum @ 6.30pm

Tuesday 5th May 2026: Mayfield Together & Parent Forum @ 6.30pm

 

*** PARENT VIEW: FORUM (IN PERSON) ***

The dates above combine the fundraising work with the current Parent Forum format. This is where staff, governors and families can come together to discuss school matters, consider fund raising priorities and activities and ask questions to the staff attending led by Mr Denton. These have also included school tours of latest work and developments. Moving forward we will be reviewing these two events taking place together and consider whether we design a separate forum platform with its own agenda, school tour, focus and staff panel. 

 

*** PARENT VIEW: ASK HT/SEEKING THOUGHTS (REMOTELY) ***

Ask HT is a forum based around our social platform for those unable to attend events in person. During Spring and Summer 2025 we created this remote way of asking questions using an email system that would then filter these into an Ask HT (Headteacher) film on our MAYFIELD TV YOUTUBE CHANNEL, that is made and presented by Mr Denton, where responses are given to those questions. The only rules being that all questions should be generic school matters and not be specifically related to particular named staff or children or be derogatory in any way.  

Email: headteacher@mayfield.lancs.sch.uk with the heading/title ASK HT. We will then, if appropriate, feature the response in our next MAYFIELD TV YOUTUBE film. Please be aware that we will do our best to check spam/junk filters but cannot guarantee that all emails will be filtered out of this system.

 

*** PARENT GOVERNOR CONTACTS ***

Our Parent Governors are key contacts between the stakeholders in school. They form part of the Parent Forum and work closely with Mr Denton and his team.
