Our Community & Well Being Partners
ADVOCATING A BETTER FUTURE FOR OUR COMMUNITY
At Mayfield, we have carefully identified and established community partners. These are chosen as they directly share beliefs in areas that we strongly advocate as a school and embed at the heart of our daily and weekly routines: our community mission. Advocating key beliefs and intentions is essential to building strong, shared partnerships that impact directly upon children's learning, their experiences and opportunities.

Here are our current community partnerships.
MY HAPPY MIND - FEELING OK IS VITAL
We are currently a Bronze Accredited school through our partnership with My Happy Mind. This work forms the basis of our PSHE & Relationships curriculum alongside wider enrichment work within our school and beyond. When you take a tour of our school with our leaders, they will show you just how well-being is driven through our 'Learner's Eye View of School Life' and maintained through our innovative approach to life at myself ranging from decor, environment, layout, outcomes and curriculum enrichement. Our partnership with My Happy Mind aligns our wider vision for learner readiness and well-being with like-minded external professionals.
MAGIC BREAKFAST - NO CHILD SHOULD FEEL HUNGRY
'Readiness for school day.' The most significant starting point thought that we have for our learners. We can craft a day of learning but starting out without feeling hungry is essential to this. Our community needs and Magic Breakfast's daily goals have brought us together to delivery a breakfast to every child who require it each day and to support our wider Early Risers work.
CONNECT COMMUNITY CHOIR - REDUCING LONELINESS
Addressing issues of loneliness and isolation in our community has become a focus for us over recent years. This has culminated in our long standing partnership with the local group known as Connect Community Choir. Alongside their founders Jayne Kelly and Phill Fairhurst we have joined through shared performances, arts and crafts and social events to bring generations together through song. This most recently led to our 'Singing By The Sea' project with an outcome at Lytham Lowther Pavilion funded by Lancashire County Council and Fylde Council. This partnership is currently working on its next shared project involving our Melody Makers and a special Christmas event.
SPORTS COOL: FYLDE - EXPANDING OUR SUPPORT
Alongside Emma Williams and her team at Sports Cool: Fylde, we have been able to develop a holiday club offer that is free to many members of our community and a daily enrichment opportunity for our wrap around provision at After School's Cool. These have been two long standing aims for our school and its ability to expand to meet need in the area. With our like minded partners, we have been able to create this offer and see it become an established part of what we do.
BLACKPOOL PIER COMPANY & THE FAMILY OF JOE LONGTHORNE - PERFORMING ARTS FOR ALL
Our most innovative partnership has centred upon our drive to open more performing arts doors for our children. This clearly identified focus has stemmed from our complete belief in how performance and presentation should be open to all and can play a huge role in a learner's early life. It has seen us build our ABC Theatre, but has also seen us establish support via The Blackpool Pier Company (who own Blackpool's piers) and the family of the late, locally based entertainer: Joe Longthorne. Both parties enable us to come together at the North Pier to produce our own Showtime showcase. This unique partnerships has allowed a primary school to put on a show beyond the usual realms of possibility and form a centre piece of our work with the children each year. The Joe Longthorne Theatre hosts our special show each June to sell-out audiences.
PAULINE QUIRKE ACADEMIES (PQA) - PERFORMING ARTS FOR ALL
Our investment in performing arts has led to PQA Fylde joining our school's journey. In addition to use of our facilities, we have established strong working partnerships with their staff which has seen them continue to deliver drama and LAMDA programmes to our children throughout the school year and opened scholarship opportunities to children attending Mayfield.
