MAYFIELD CITIZENSHIP VALUES IN ACTION - WITH DAILY IMPACT

Below are images of the Mayfield Citizenship Charter and also our outdoor Star Safe Tram Tracks.The children, via the MC Ambassadors & Sports Captains (with our Lunchtime Sports Play Manager as lead), make recommendations about the current standards in school social times and the level of reward collectively received via the tram track interactive display in our playground. In addition, Reward Tokens are awarded as Team Points for individuals during classroom and social time (these may also appear on children's work). In our weekly celebration assembly we share members of our school community who have received a Special Mention via our post box system for living our values during the school week. Both adults and student leaders can make these nominations. The nominations are visible for all to see on both screen and display in the main gym from thereon. If children can mantain the citizenship standards, then we can proudly say they are Star Safe Mayfield Citizens and ready for the future.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP ROLES

BHere are our main pupil voice and leadership teams running through school. 

MC AMBASSADORS

A role for Year 6 students. They must apply for the position during Year 5 Summer Term and undertake their work throughout Year 6. Attitude to school life and strong attendance are two areas that are considered and reviewed during any amabassdors recruitment and retention of duties. They undertake a variety of roles. Please see this core list in the chart below. They share aspects of these duties with the Sports Captains

SPORTS CAPTAINS

A role for Year 6 students. They must apply for the position during Year 5 Summer Term and undertake their work throughout Year 6. Attitude to school life and strong attendance are two areas that are considered and reviewed during any Sports Captains recruitment and retention of duties. They undertake a variety of roles - many of which have an accent upon physical education, enrichment and games. Please see this core list in the chart above. They share aspects of these duties with the Sports Captains

SUBJECT CHAMPIONS

A role for identified and nominated children across school. In each subject, we have a core group of students who lead the learner voice in that specific subject area. Looking at the curriculum, coverage, outcomes and presence within school. This group provide views on our successes, possible ideas for the future and identify monthly Subject Heroes to celebrate. Through monthly meetings with the subject leaders, they undertake this work and maintain their presence and ongoing work. Alongside the MC Ambassadors and Sports Captains they complete our student voice group. Through this work we are also able to identify potential MC Ambassadors and Sports Captains in the years ahead. Learners retain this role for a minimum two year cycle. 

The student voice group attends an annual Student Council review with Mr Denton that formulates ideas for the year ahead and offers evaluation of the year completed.
