Our curriculum has been a major school development priority since the arrival of our new headteacher, Mr Denton, in September 2019. 'Curriculum Craft' (as we term it) has moved from evaluation, to planning into implementation. We have done this in two stages over a three year plan. Stage One: The Knowledge - What We Learn. Using the National Curriculum as our core document, and being informed by our colleagues work within Lancashire and supplementing these with supporting resources throughout the process, we have created the current model. Stage Two: The Skills - How We Learn began in April 2021. Throughout this journey we have constantly had to change and be responsive to a very different learning climate caused by Covid-19. What we teach has had to be refined and developed constantly. We have had to be responsive to the pre-learning assessments that we have undertaken and how starting points have altered and how gaps have occured. We have also had to make our 'How We Learn' stage a responsive antidote to the lost behaviours and attitudes caused by prolonged school absence. Our unique and very deliberate approach is still embedding. We have planned and prepared at every stage - led by the National Curriculum requirements - but now more than ever we are most proud of the way in which we are adapting and being responsive to what we see in our learners. We started with a new curriculum to fit our intent, now we are making that model constantly fit the shifting sands in front of us. From hereon you can read all about our curriculum, what we teach, how we teach and why we teach it. It is split into two sections:

1) INTENT: SUBJECT LEADERSHIP/CURRICULUM LEADING

Much of this section of the website is set out in subject areas. Allowing the leaders to summarise their current position and work, including key documentation. Alongside this, you can find the background story and detail behind our curriculum construction, planning and overall thinking.

2) IMPLEMENT & IMPACT: CURRICULUM LEARNING

This section of the website is our class and year group based section. Telling everyone more about what we learning and how we are doing it. You can see the teachers and the class line-ups whilst taking at look at our special Stunning Start, Theme Day and Parent Celebration events.
